Tenino (AP) – Rainier and Forks hooked up for a hard hitting Saturday showdown that left both teams bruised and battered. In a down to the wire contest, the Spartans held on for 30-16 victory.
Senior quarterback Mike Green ran seven times for 31 yards and two touchdowns, while throwing for 94 yards through the air. Sean Mahaffey had a team-high 89 yards rushing on 17 carries to go with two catches for 45 yards, and Jacob Uch caught two passes for 48 yards.
Rainier takes the Upper North’s No. 3 seed and faces the South’s No. 3 seed, Toledo, in a 2B Southwest Washington Football League crossover playoff game on Saturday, March 20, in Kalama.
